ODM Development Questions
How does ODM differ from OEM?+
ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) starts from your brief — our engineers develop the boat structure, construction, graphics and packaging, whether from a market concept, performance target or adaptation of a proven platform. You approve the design before production. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) manufactures to your approved specification — your drawings, dimensions, materials and packaging. You own the design and IP. Both run through the same plant, QC system and export team; ODM is the fastest path to a branded boat when you do not have a design yet.
I only have a rough idea — where do we start?+
Send a short brief: target operators, use cases, rough size, markets and volumes. Our engineers come back with a concept, a reference boat direction and a development plan within one business day — an NDA is signed before any detailed exchange when requested.
How long does it take to develop a new boat?+
Prototype samples ship in 10–15 days. A new hull with custom mould tooling adds 20–35 days of engineering before samples. Production runs 30–45 days after PO and deposit.
What is the MOQ for an ODM boat?+

Who owns the design and mould?+
Your brief, design and tooling are protected by NDA, brand licensing terms and mould ownership or buyout clauses written into the contract. Tooling is kept for your brand and transferable.
Can you develop a specific shape (tenders, fishing, rescue, workboats)?+
Yes. Hull engineering covers all main boat categories — tender, air-deck dinghy, workboat, rescue, fishing and multi-person boats — with hydrodynamic test-tank validation available for performance shapes.
Which certifications will the developed boat carry?+
CE (recreational craft directive), ISO 9001, BSCI, REACH and RoHS. Certification documents are prepared per order for your export markets, and ISO 6185 compliance applies to inflatable boats.
